Nice gal finish last?

Has there been times when you go all out of the way just to be nice,(you know like planned everything just to make it look casual but it took a whole lot of consideration in actual fact) but in the end just to be misunderstood?Well it happened and it was by someone close to me or well now i doubt i would choose the word close anymore, probably related will do.I know i'm not an angel or even the most sensitive person or most affectionate or most giving person or most lovable. However i was pretty sure i meant every nice gesture i ever did in my life.Specifically gifts,i have never given because i don't want it anymore but on the contrary because either i loved it so much or someone else loved it so much.Seriously i don't do hand-me-down gifts or recycled gifts.Even with the cheesy-est of Christmas gifts. This feeling of being hurt is unlikely to fade.Especially when it involves a parent.I can't justify myself and i don't understand why i should have to.Is it just so hard to believe that i can be nice?

The Day of No Workload
So i pretty much decided to take the afternoon off in pursue of something more useful like my letter of Good Conduct.Did anyone know that it kinda has a validity date on it?Now i'm going to tell you it does, about six month. So don't try to be a smarty pants and apply too early
Whatever it is, I had to go thru the trouble of catching an lrt, to get on a KLIA Transit ,then get a cab to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Throwing in terrible timing. The whole affair took an hour and a half.
The Ministry building
Way up on a small hill
Getting the letter only took less then half an hour.Great i though, getting back to the KLIA Transit station was the hard part.Ben and I did a run to catch a bus since there wasn't any other mode of transport besides calling a cab with killer charges. It's so nostalgic, like the times i used to run after a bus in UiTM college in my baju kurung. However we did get out 50 CENTS worth of a bus rite.It gave us a tour of Putrajaya before finally entering the terminal 40minutes later.I didn't time it but i don't recall the taxi ride taking more then 5 minutes and that was RM8.
All is well since i did manage to get another thing out of my to do list. One checked many more to go. Nobody on the bus!!
Pretty building i saw on the tour.

Staff Appreciation Day

Receive a pleasant suprise today.Apparently the CF was having an event and all the staff received a highlighter.I guess i'm more of a marketing staff then a researcher or research assistant, which ever they chose to label us by.For some reason or another,my supervisor Kak Wati decided to take a sniff at it.Hers smelled like strawberry since it was pink.So i decided to sniff mine too.It smelled like cough mixture.Hmmm.Well all the other staff started to take a whiff at theirs too,the purple one really smelled like grapes.Oh well,it's a nice gesture no matter what it smells like. Thanks imu cf.

Convocation Day
Convocation as we know it signifies a solemn affair.Everything has to be done following a certain ritual or more to say tradition, since when?I have no idea.Everyone came dress in their best white/black formal attire or at least most of us did, some were more creative, flashing myriad of colours with traditional clothing .Even those who go all out to defy the normal IMU dresscode came in the most formal attire he/she had.All for the sake of waiting patiently for their turn to walk up the stage (and with good luck, not trip), taking a few bows and receiving that meaningful scroll that signifies the end of the journey thus far.Obviously not forgetting to flash a few smiles while the photographers snapped away. After the whole ceremony,we did even more snapping with our own personal cameras.Well actually, we already started way earlier. What were we to do?Since we only took all of 5 minutes to put our robes on which was obviously lacking of the hood and mortarboard. When we're only halfway there, they only give you half the accessories.
In the robbing room
I sense some hidden agenda...
Neverthelesss, i wouldn't say i knew how a normal convo felt like but i don't think this was it.Yes it was an experience to be the one on the stage,an opportunity to share the occasions with friends and family but it didn't give me that sense of achievement or satisfaction i suppose that should come with it.It didn't help that not many of my batch mates attended either.I guess the only people whom i know really felt proud was my parents that day.Dad even postponed attending a meeting with his big big boss to be there to pass me my flowers.Aww..sob sob.So touched, can cry ade.It meant more to them then it ever would to me.From my point of view, sadness was the first to set in,i know from this day forward that i might not or will not see a portions of my friends whom i'm so used to having around. There goes another chapter of my life closing up.I currently feel like an Akon song...Lonely.
