SPeaK

Why is it that despite having used the English language my whole life, words still fail me when i need it the most? When it would have been put into good use to help a person or at the very least comfort them, why does it not form proper sentences?Saying it's okay or i understand does not make it okay.I wish i could do more. I ask so much, people offer even more but what do i give them?A few minutes of company or few moments of awkwardness.

Cannulate My Day

Was so suppose to force myself to catch the NHS shuttle but since it's before 9am and there is a 50-50 chance of not being able to get in...i just winged it,slept inand paid 1pounds for the Lothian bus.RM7..sakit.

Bedside teaching at 10am with a Senior House Officer.Had him before for last friday's FY1 shadowing....technically not FY1 but SHO's generally have more time on their hands.Pointed us towards an asthmatic patient, history taking was great but she's already healed..no wheezing.Darn..went to borrow another group's patient to listen for that asthmatic wheeze.I've heard a full blown wheeze.Hehe.After that,an FY1 offers a few of us the chance to take blood.I was kinda afriad to hurt anyone early in the morning, just watched a groupmate do it.He got it at first try,not as bad as i thought it would be.

Later on the day just as i was going to leave, the FY1 offered us the chance to do cannulation.Well i guess it was my turn to get some experience..big gulps and lump behind my throat an hour before the procedure.Decided to kill time talking to a patient,he was so sweet and i found out he was a composer. As in a serious composer who publishes albums. How cool is that?I googled him and he's quite famous actually.Second person i know to have appeared in The Scotsman newspaper besides a certain boxer.Totally made me forget about my nervousness.

Cannulation came and went.Had two tries just to get it in.Totally punctured through a vein the first time,i hope the guy doesn't have a big fat bruise.Feel so guilty about it.But nevertheless,i've done my first cannulation.I feel so like a medical student..

Junior Party in Kincaid's

Holding steadfast to tradition. We the IMU Year 3 transfers had our first potluck party for the seniors. In no particular order..this is what we brought to the table

Black Pepper Chicken courtesy of Fish

Khek Jian's dad's secret recipe acar
Han Ying and My hardwork into the sushi in between sports and Raya lunch.Ivy's Sunny Egg Omelete
Chickens lining up for Ben and Poh Peng
UNclaimed vege
Prasad's famous Pork Curry.. The infamous Red Bean soup by Calvin
The sweet Banofee by Sarah
We had tonnes of food contributed by our seniors.Fried rice, chocs, ice cream cake and not to mention 2 trays of brownie, one by Enna and the other from Ven Gee and banana cake by Prasad and KahYee.No wonder people always say they get fatter when going overseas.

Introducing The Adorable Tocco

Due to the request of Miss Hui Lin, i have decided to introduce my new phone to everyone. She came about after spending a whole two hours at the Carphone Warehouse(for those who aren't in the uk region,it's where we get our phones and lines).Phone lines are freaking expensive here and with just a little more every month you can get a free phone.Or if you pay more..even higher end phone.I was so set on getting a Samsung Omnia with the pda function and all but fate had it that there was to be no stock in the whole of Edinburgh. Can you imagine that?

But it's a blessing in disguise as i'm starting to love my Tocco and i saved 100pounds.Now i can think of getting an iPod.Hehe.

Now more on the phone and less on me.It's a touch phone.Meaning everything need to be sentuh sentuh lar.It uses widgets as it's display interface but with a touch it switches back into those conventional menus. No point boring you with all the info.Just go to Samsung website.I think it's an F480 model. It's only called a Tocco in the UK.
Since i chose the colour, it came with a pink protective casingCan use as a stand as wellMinus the casing..it's only pink on the sides and purplish pink on the screen. They had it in black but I really wanted something that was nearer to purple. Now thinking of it,a little too pink especially when it sits next to my camera.Ultimate bimboness.

The coolest part with the phone is that it has a very advanced camera in it.5Mp and lots of functions.More or less equal to my camera. This is what i call canggih.Might as well make it worth while since i'm changing the brand and even the phone type.Still needing a lot of bonding time to get to know my phone.

Cameraphone anyone?

Goodbye My Loyal Friend

On the same day that i rejoice for the forthcoming of a weekend, i lost something really precious to me...my purple s500i.My heart sank when i realised my carelessness.Cry i did not but the heartache will go on for a long time.I should have seen it coming as the signs were there...frequent falling from my pocket was a big hint.Frustration is not big enough a word to express what i am feeling now....It's been 2 days.....I miss you phone.
